Neighborhood Cookout 10 September 2011 Hot dogs and burgers!

The baseball field at Webb Park was dedicated in memory of
Milton J. Kelley on Saturday 10 October 2009

Thanks to everyone who participated in Town
Wide Clean Up Day on Saturday 14 May 2011 and worked in Webb Park (Summit
Street). Jean MacDonald, Jim Fitzgerald, Joan and Walter Anderson, Brian
and Kathleen Butler and their sons Brendan and Patrick Butler and Maryanne
Dolan raked leaves and picked up downed limbs. The Town DPW picked up 40
bags of yard waste at the end of the day. Two thumbs up all around!

Coming in 2011
The Town
of Weymouth has committed money to Webb Park for 2011. I met with the Town
officials and discussed installing swings, regrading
under the current play structure, adding a play structure, repaving the
basketball court, replacing the backstop at the Milton J. Kelley Memorial
Baseball Field and replacing the perimeter fence. My preference is to work
on the interior of the park and leave the fence until last. The fencing can
be done in phases. The Homestead Landing Civic Association and the Friends
of Webb Park are committed to continuing their effort to establish sitting
and picnic areas as well as maintenance of the park. More information as it becomes available.

Whats Happening at Webb Park:
We are looking for grants that fund
playground renovation.
Have you filled out the Webb Park
Survey yet? If not, why not take a few minutes and fill it out and let us
know what you would like in your park.
The Dog Waste Containers have
worked well. Thank you to everyone who uses them. If you see they are empty
blast an email and they will be filled.
Also, thanks to
everyone who has been picking up the fallen tree limbs. Your effort does not
go unnoticed.
